The Trustees were delighted to hear recently that Rowan Pritchard Jones had been awarded a Hunterian Professorship for  2006 on the basis of his SCaRF funded research.  This award is made by the Royal College of Surgeons and is high recognition for the standard of SCaRF funded research.

Rowan's initial research was entitled "Role of a novel anti-angiogenic iso form of VEGF in skin cancer". Rowan made his initial application for funding in March 2003 and was awarded a total of £31,056. The Trustees decided at the end of 2004 to make a 5 year commitment of £20,000 per year to fund a SCaRF Fellow in this laboratory to allow for continuous progression of this research. The second SCaRF Fellow was Daryl Dunn.
