2005 Environmental Awards in our Centenary Year
I do hope all members will be able to find something worthy of consideration in their area, or within Bristol in this very special year. Please do have a really good look around and send in your nomination to me whenever you like but before the cut off date June 10th. Last year we had nine winners and a very enthusiastic November ceremony at the Zoo.
The Evening Post always does us proud with articles ‘before and after’.
One thing to get right. To be able to claim an award the project must have been completed or opened in 2004 i.e. last year!
Again this year Bristol Water will sponsor us and as it is our Centenary so it is very special.
Here are the nomination categories
New or renovated buildings
Imaginative uses of buildings no longer required for their original purpose.- e.g. Sugar house / Hotel Du Vin 2001.
Improvements in spaces between buildings
Park, play areas or open spaces
New gardens or murals- viz: Bedminster Station
New or renovated sculptures or monuments
But as a bit of fun please consider including:
1) A development worthy of a ‘wooden spoon’ in our case probably to be called ‘a yellow lemon’ and:
2) A building or development you particularly admire built around one hundred years ago
So all you must do is find your candidate and then please call me on:
0117 9279578 or email: charles.fox@virgin.net
or write in with your proposals to Charles Fox, Publicity Officer
