We, the members of Buckingham Chapel believe……………..
-
In the
divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scriptures as
originally given; their authority and sufficiency as not only
containing but being in themselves the Word of God and being sole
authority in matters of faith and conduct.
- That the Godhead eternally exists
in three persons, Father Son and Holy Spirit, and that these three
are one God; and that God is sovereign
in creation, redemption,
providence and judgment.
-
In
the utter depravity of human nature in consequence of the fall and
the necessity for regeneration.
-
In
the true and proper Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin
birth; His real and perfect manhood; His work of atonement for
sinners by His vicarious sufferings and death; His bodily
resurrection; His ascension into heaven; His present priestly
intercession for His people.
-
In
the justification of the sinner solely by faith, through the atoning
merits of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
-
That the Church consists of all
those regenerated by the Holy Spirit and made new creatures in
Christ, and that the local Church has liberty under the guidance of
the Holy Spirit to interpret the laws of Christ and is thus
sufficient under Christ for the ordering of its life in obedience to
His will.
-
In
the observance of believers baptism by immersion as an ordinance of
divine institution, but not as conveying any regenerating grace; and
the observance of the Lord’s Supper as a commemoration of our
Lord’s death, but not as being a sacrifice for sin, nor involving
any change of substance of the bread and wine.
-
In
the resurrection of the body; the judgment of the world by our Lord
Jesus with the eternal bliss of the righteous and eternal punishment
of the wicked.
-
In
the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ in glory.
