The Geological Section helps promote the rocks, fossils and landforms of the Bristol district. Indoor meetings are held during the winter months with speakers invited to talk on subjects as diverse as dinosaurs and volcanoes.

Outdoor activities include visits to geological sites, many providing opportunities to collect specimens. Recently members have been involved in practical conservation work, clearing several local rock exposures.
