Library

The Society's Library is an excellent resource for members. It has important identification works and general interest material, and whilst concentrating on the Bristol District, a recent initiative is building the collection of guides to overseas wildlife havens.

The Library is housed in Bristol's City Museum, and there is a constant programme of updating books, journals, and electronic media, covering all aspects of natural history. Earliest material pre-dates the Society's establishment (1862), and there are extensive runs of journals, including those of other local Societies and some foreign material. Particularly significant collections cover geology, palaeontology, botany, entomology and ornithology.

Members may normally borrow up to 6 items at a time, and keep them on loan for up to 3 months.
