The British Origami Society (BOS) was formed in 1967 by a small group of enthusiasts who wished to share their enjoyment of origami. Since that time, we have grown into a truly international organisation with members in all parts of the world.

In 2007 we will celebrate our 40th Anniversary. This landmark will be marked with a special convention held at the Kaetsu Centre, Cambridge University 6-9th September 2007. 3 celebrated overseas folders will be special guests - Miyuki Kawamura from Japan, Eric Joisel from France and Robert Neale from the USA. More details of this on the BOS website.

The BOS publishes an excellent bi-monthly magazine, and operate a postal library service whereby books and design instructions, amongst other things, can be borrowed. A selection of library books are also held at the local mini-meetings, including Bristol.

Paper & Book Supplies

The BOS also has a supplies service which operates on-line, by mail order and at conventions, supplying a great selection of books and specialised papers that are otherwise sometimes difficult to obtain. It also produces in-house publications such as booklets containing collections of designs by well-known folders.

You may also try local stationers or craft shops. Some wrapping papers and general purpose papers are often very good for origami. There are also lots of good origami books available in well-known bookshops or on-line sites.

For details of local stockists, contact Tony at tohare@blueyonder.co.uk. See Contact Us page.
