Bristol & Frenchay Monthly Meeting
of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers)
Information Technology Committee
Aims
The Committee is responsible for the Bristol and Frenchay Monthly Meeting
website and other forms of on-line communication.
Members
Representatives from each Preparative Meeting are appointed usually for
three years. The basic task of members is to maintain and develop articles
for the Monthly Meeting web-site, outreach being its principal aim.
The committee normally meets every two months for two hours and communicates
using email in between. There is no travel outside the Bristol & Frenchay
area. Normally we meet at the house of a member without a car.
Tasks
Specific tasks include:
liasing with Preparative Meeting clerks to ensure that the web-pages for
each Preparative Meeting are accurate and appropriate;
proposing articles from the Monthly Meeting newsletter or other sources
suitable for conversion to web-pages for a non-Quaker readership;
reviewing the style and format of web-pages;
collecting email addresses for members of their Preparative Meeting
who would like to be informed by email of occasional events;
probably but not necessarily, be willing to receive email messages for
announcing notices in their Preparative Meeting;
at least one member has to produce and edit web pages.
Knowledge and expertise
The members do not need to be experts in IT but it is preferable to have
easy access to the Internet.
It helps to have access to the internet for communication and for review
of proposed web-pages.
At least one member has to be able to produce and edit web pages.
At least one member has to be able to load web pages to the host site.
