Message from City of Bristol College, Bedminster Centre

Hello!

I am Debbie Harrison, Community Development Worker for City of Bristol College based at Bedminster Centre, Marksbury Road.

My job is to act as a link between College and the Community. I aim to work in partnership with groups and individuals locally. One way the college is working in partnership with local community groups is through the 'Passport to Learning' courses. These tend to be short taster courses and can be on practically any subject - Assertiveness skills, Pottery, Craft, Banner Painting, D J'ing Skills, DIY or Home Security are some ideas.

There are also lots of courses on offer at the Bedminster Centre and many of them are free:- Return to Study, Making Choices, Skills Development, Using Computers, Photography and Art are just some of them. There are many more courses available.

More information can be found by visiting the Centre, prospectuses are available in reception. Our website has a wealth of information :- www.cityofbristol.ac.uk or you can phone 9045000 for general enquiries. If you would like information on setting up a course in your community or you have other ideas you can phone Debbie on 9045424.
Have fun learning!
Debbie Harrison

MARKING BRISTOL'S HERITAGE * THE BLUE PLAQUES

Actor Timothy West unveiled Bristol's latest blue plaque on the 17th July 2002 at the Little Theatre, Colston Street to The Rapier Players - a popular, independent theatre company who performed hundreds of plays from 1935 to 1963. The unveiling marks another keystone in Bristol's popular blue plaque programme, remembering famous and notable people from Bristol's past and where they lived and worked. It also marks the launch of the council's dedicated website to Bristol's Blue Plaques. Anyone looking for information about the plaques, including addresses and map locations and links to more information about famous Bristolians can browse the site:

Bristol Bird Watch
