On the 18th November 2009 we received the following announcement from Digital Bristol.

Dear Digital Bristol Member

Digital Bristol has been online since 1997. It was a pioneering venture both as a free public hosting service, and as a partnership between the local authority and private enterprise. It was ahead of its time.

But times have moved on. In 2009 there are many free web space services with facilities to suit all kinds of user. Digital Bristol hasn't got this sort of flexibility, and the site itself doesn't meet modern expectations.

We have therefore decided to discontinue the service after 31^st January 2010.

This means that http://www.digitalbristol.org/ and all the web spaces on it will be taken offline from 1^st February.

If you want to retain the content of your site, please make arrangements to download a copy and/or move it to another web hosting location.

We are sorry for any confusion caused by Digital Bristol failing to take the web space off their server as originally stated.
